These images are just so heart-wrenching.  This one is by far one of the saddest. When I think about the parents of the 18 children killed at this horrible incident in Newtown, Connecticut this morning, I can’t help but cry.  Those parents rushed to the school to pick up their children and bring them home to safety, only to watch other parents find their children while they waited to be told their children wouldn’t be coming out.  Those parents will have to live with the pain of knowing their young children went to school like any other morning but will never be coming home again.  Those parents will have to go home and see their child’s bedroom, knowing they won’t be tucking them in and giving them goodnight kisses anymore.  Those parents will have to unwrap and return all the Christmas gifts they bought their children, knowing they were only a few days away from seeing the joy on their children’s faces when they opened them.My heart just feels so heavy thinking of the sorrow they will have to live with every day.  I can’t even imagine how devastating this must be, and I can only hope that I will never have to know the pain of losing a child in my own life.  My thoughts and prayers go out to those parents who had to experience it today.

tears!

this is terrible. absolutely terrible.

I have had anorexia for six years.
I weigh approximately 84lbs.
Me and this mannequin are very nearly the same size.
Thousands of young girls will walk past this mannequin every day, and to them it symbolises how women are supposed to look.
This is not okay.

VSX Sport Presents the Sexiest Workout Ever: Core

Warm up - Do a 2 minute warm up like jumping jacks, then do 3-5 mins of another exercise such as skip rope (to mix this up, use weights instead of a rope and just jump up and down in place).
Aerotwist - Standing with feet wide apart, twist arms using the core muscles from side to side, keeping it controlled. After one round of this for 60 seconds, do the same thing but tilted to the right for 60 seconds. Tilt back to the left for the final round of 60 seconds.
Basic Plank - Simply hold the plank position for 60 seconds.
Around the world plank - In the plank position, with arms out straight, lift one limb up for a few seconds, then gently lower back down. Repeat for all limbs (including both arms and legs).
Aerobliques - In a position similar to the side plank, have one arm across the chest, with the other on the ground for support. Lift up the upper body and legs as much as possible using the core muscles, keeping everything controlled and tight.
Basic Crunches - Lying down on the floor with hands under your butt, do some basic crunches, keeping everything controlled.
Russian Twists  - In a seated position, using a medicine ball if available (or otherwise some kind of weight) twist from side to side. (NB: in the video these are called Seated Twists with a Medicine Ball).
Stretch/cool down – Don’t forget to stretch out those sore core muscles!

Watch the video HERE (it includes the warm up and cool down stretches). This workout should, including warm up and cool down, take around half an hour. Enjoy!

Calling All Paleo Eaters and Whole30 Program People

ok so I have some questions about it, pretty much want to get some information on paleo eating (no sugars or grains) and the Whole 30 program and what happens when you are done with it. Advice, experiences both negative and positive are expected. I am just looking for a place to start with this program before giving it some serious thought and scheduling doctor visits and such because with my lifestyle this will be a very big and difficult change, but I am desperate to stop binge eating and get over my sugar/carbs/processed food addictions. So anyone got any advice?

I LOVE FITOCRACY!!!

I ABSOLUTELY love it! I actually have been doing reps like once every hour or so to make up for the fact that I cannot go to the gym right now and its too dark to run. i already feel it in my legs and arms and Everyone is sooo nice….I am so happy!

Fitocracy question

Ok so I was suffering from severe senioritis this past quarter (that’s right I only have 20 weeks of school left!!!!) this winter break I want to work out because I am determined to make it at least 70% of the way to my goal. The thing is I was not expecting to be home this break… I came home for thanksgiving expecting to stay for 4 days tops and having no time to work out so I brought NO things to work out with.. no workout shoes, no weights, no workout dvds.. nothing. i luckily brought my HR monitor, and I have an extra pair of basketball shoes in the closet from when i played (not great for all exercising but they will work for a week or so while i run on the elliptical and weightlifting.) But since I don’t have Insanity (i can find it online i know but being home is just not a very good place to be to do it)I was thinking about starting fitocracy so I can spend most of my time working out outside or in a gym… at least until I can get back to school…I know a lot of you guys use it for weightlifting and building muscle mass but does it also work well for fat burning/cardio?
